Aging
It’s only lately that I’ve realised
How old that I have become
Just the simple things in life
Seem to be going one after one
My health is now on the decline
Arthritis has taken its place
The simple things that I used to enjoy
Are all leaving at such a fast pace
The start of my day is a nightmare
With pain in so many places
Just handling the simple process of dressing
With the worst thing just tying my laces
But when I’m out and see others around me
I realise just how lucky I am
Seeing the severe disabilities of others
Makes me wonder is mine just a sham
So as long as I can I’ll keep going
I will face whatever life brings
Ignore the pain and annoying discomforts
And just keep doing all my favourite things
ALWAYS REMEMBER NO MATTER WHAT LIFE BRINGS.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE FAR WORSE OFF THAN YOU CAN EVER BELIEVE.
