Nothing can take away your past

But today is important too

And the thing you have to realise

Is that now is all about you

There is nothing worse than being alone

Although family and friends are all there

Do they really know just how you feel

Because you store it inside like a prayer

I know you’re afraid of moving on

And guilt is mostly to blame

But I am sure your loved ones would all agree

They would not wish to see you in pain

So remember the past times that were all so good

But also the new ones that are waiting for you

Find happiness in life wherever it is

But please put away those negative doubts too

We all wish that we could go back in time

And relive the good times we had

But remember those memories are always there

No matter if happy or sad

So look to the future that’s waiting for you

And grab it with wide willing arms

I know that there is more happiness out there

And you deserve it along with your charms

There is someone out there who deserves your love

Because you’ve given so much through the years

And the loved ones who shared it for all of that time

Would understand, so please get rid of those fears

I really know just how you feel

Because I’ve also been there myself

So look in the mirror and just be brave

Feel free and jump off the shelf

Companionship can lead to many things

And only you will decide

How far you are willing to let yourself go

But please don’t let others lessen your pride

I hope you find happiness in someone new

And enjoy what life is to come

Never forget those times of the past

But be positive and know that you’ve won

I hope these little words I’ve penned

Will if nothing just make you think
