There are times in your life when you need a friend

When you think that you’re troubles will never end

When this great big world seems such a small place

And the troubles you have, you just cannot face

So who do you turn to in this time of despair?

Why of course the person you know that will care

There are times in your life when your views are so strong

But when friends try to help they are always wrong

Then when we are facing that unclimbable wall

Your mother’s below you in case you should fall

No matter what you say no matter what you do

She will always defend you for her love is so true

But do we always show that same sort of care

Or do we take her for granted because we know that she’s there

Sometimes it’s too late when we finally realise

Just how much she has done throughout our lives

And now we are married and have kids of our own

She’s there again with that dependable home

So perhaps it’s time in this worsening world

To give back a little to that jewel, that pearl

For when all else fails one thing is for sure

Our mother’s love will stay so straight and so pure

So don’t take her for granted. give some back as well

For when she’s no longer there – welcome to Hell!!!
