New Friendship

I realise now just how lucky I am

To have found you as a close friend

From the day that we met, we just seemed to click

So I hope this time never ends

We laugh a lot each time we meet

And I just have to pinch myself

It seems I’ve known you for so long

Rather than just found you sat on the shelf

The future ahead is now up to us

It will be difficult at times I know

With someone to spoil a set routine

I’m sure at times it will come as a blow

We must both decide what we want out of life

And decide the best path to take

Let’s enjoy all the years that we have left

And try not to make a mistake

If we sit and discuss the times that are ours

And those we are willing to share

Then a compromise should easily be reached

Then we can get on and let down our hair

Let’s share and enjoy the time that we have

And fill it right up to the brim

If at the end of each day we have laughed just a bit

Then we’ve found a right formula to win

So let’s hope for good health for many years yet

And a friendship that grows day by day

If we consider each other as much as we can

Then we’ll be winning all of the way

So here’s to those times that we decide to share

Perhaps! with other friends too

Let’s make our future fun and exciting

With so many things we can do.

But those private times will always be there

And will give us time to rewind
